Summary of Role:

GlobalFoundries' Fab 9 in Essex, VT has an opportunity for a skilled and motivated AMHS software engineer to join our factory automation team . The Automated Material Handling Systems (AMHS) supports the factory with automated delivery and storage of lots across the factory. As a member of the team , you will serve as site expert for a designated set of AMHS Material Controls Systems, including representing/leading integrated needs in cross-functional and cross-site teams both tactically and strategically. A successful candidate will have extreme attention to detail to prevent unintended changes or process variations , strong cross functional engagement and continuous improvement obsession . This role is on a Mon - Friday daytime schedule, with occasional weekend hours as needed.

Essential Responsibilities:

Typically performs one or more of the following .

-Serve as site expert for a designated set of AMHS Material Controls Systems

-Responsible for 200mm Material Control System (Romaric RomaMD )

• System monitoring, problem investigation and resolution , documentation of issues, provid e feedback to GF engineers , technicians, management , and vendors .

• Interfac e with vendor for problem investigation s , updates, and bug fixes

• Interface with GF IT support to investigate and resolve server and networki ng issues related to the MCS operation.

• Coordinate MCS system updates with Manufacturing, Management, and vendors

• Work with GF IT, Manufacturing, engineering, Management and vendors to defi ne requirements for modifications and improvemen t s to the MCS to improve reliability and through put of the AMHS and accommodate AMHS expansions.

-Responsible for 300mm Material Cont r ol System (Murata MACS 2)

• System monitoring, problem investigation and resolution, documentation of issues, provide feedback to GF engineers, technicians, management, and vendors .

• Interface with vendor for problem investigations, updates, and bug fixes

• Interface with GF IT support to investigate and resolve server and networking issues related to the MCS operation.

• Coordinate MCS system updates with Manufacturing, Management, and vendors

• Work with Manufacturing, engineering, Management and vendors to define requirements for modifications and improvements to the MCS to improve reliability and throughput of the AMHS.

-Responsible for 200mm equipment operating software including:

• Installation, problem investigation, modifications, and upgrades.

• PRI AeroTrak Controller , PRI Stocker software, Murata LIM Controller, Murata CD200 stocker software.

-Responsible for 3 00mm equipment operating software including:

• Installation, problem investigation, modifications, and upgrades.

• Murata CD200 stocker software and Asyst mapper

• Responsible for additional software systems as the AMHS expands

-Lead tactical troubleshooting of AMHS System issues

-Lead the integration of overall capability roadmap and requirements specification in partnership with cross functional stakeholders, factory automation team, and suppliers.

-Contribute to and engage in continuous improvement efforts to enhance systems, procedures, equipment availability, utilization , cycle time, cost, etc.

-Create and modify existing training material and procedures in order to provide first class reference material for peers and internal customers.

-Self-starter, capable of leading and managing complex problems, driving and leading cross-functional teams .

-Resourceful, creative and innovative in coming up with ideas to resolve issues .

-Communicate complex problems clearly aligning key stakeholders and demonstrate leadership capabilities.

Other Responsibilities:

• Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

• Other duties as assigned by manager / supervisor.

Required Qualifications:

• Education - B achelor's Degree in IT/Computer Science/Computer Engineering, or a similar discipline.

• Experience - minimum of 6 years' related experience within automation / computer programming or semiconductor manufacturing industry.

• Basic to intermediate programming/any shell scripting skills and data extraction skills including but not limited to SQL query for Oracle/Microsoft database.

• Proficient knowledge of basic UNIX commands/other command line utilities, and factory automation systems

• Fluency in English Language (both written and verbal)

• Strong troubleshooting skills and use of Model Based Problem Solving.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's Degree in Software engineering / computer science/ programming / IT / automation and/or related discipline

• 6+ years of related experience

• Proficiency with data analytical/statistical tools such as JMP, Excel/Pivot Tables, SQL, Tableau, PowerBI , Log Analyzer etc.

• Factory Business Acumen demonstrated through working successfully with semiconductor manufacturing.

Expected Salary Range

$91,600. 00 - $170,000. 00
