About the Position:

The Community Parent Education Supervisor has oversight of community home visiting including the PAT model.
The supervisor is responsible for management, program planning, implementation and evaluation of services within the program.
The supervisor is responsible for staffing and supervision of community Home Visitors.

• PAT outcomes are established in partnership with community-based organizations through home visits, group connections, screening and a resource network.
  The supervisor helps to ensure that the Home Visitors provide the following services and strives towards reaching the seven goals/outcomes:
  
  • Increase parent knowledge of early childhood development and improve positive parenting practices.
  • Provide early detection of developmental delays and connection to services.
  • Improve parent, child, and family health and well-being.
  • Prevent child abuse and neglect.
  • Increase children's school readiness and success.
  • Improve family economic well-being.
  • Strengthen community capacity and connectedness.
• Recruit, employ and retain Home Visitors and provide regular on-going individual and group supervision.
• Complete documentation/billing/reporting as required.
• Complete required Parents as Teachers (PAT) training and certification as mandated by the Vermont Department of Health, with Lund covering all costs and providing time to do so.
• Develops and maintains effective partnerships with the Department for Children's and Families - Family Services Division, local Children's Integrates Services and a variety of other partner agencies to ensure effective well-coordinated services.
• Ensures that program evaluation tools are defined and used consistently and appropriately; program performance data is regularly reviewed and reported as requested by the President and CEO, Board of Trustees, grantors and other funders.
  
• Ensures compliance with program grants and contracts.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, or another related human services field.
  Must have early childhood and family-centered experience, preferably in the community or home.
• Supervisory experience required.
• Expertise working with families and children, and experience with community resources.
• Demonstrate ability to work both independently and as a team player.
• Familiarity with regulations, laws and procedures of the Vermont Agency of Human Services.
• Exhibit theoretical and practical knowledge and experience with systems theory, family dynamics, poverty, transitional services, and community-based resources.
  
• Ability to collaborate with other professional disciplines, participate as a team member, complete referral to community-based resources, engage in treatment planning, and maintain accurate records.
  Possesses flexibility, with adaptability to change within program structure.
• Demonstrate creativity and initiative as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
• A cohesive value system that includes a nonjudgmental attitude regarding reproductive choice, parenting options, and substance abusing clients.
  Displays caring, responsive and respectful attitude towards others.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position either with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to maintain a valid VT Driver's License and access to reliable transportation.
  Occasional statewide travel may be required.
• Upon conditional offer of employment, must be able to successfully pass a background check.
