We are searching for a Strategic Sourcing Specialist who is responsible for the company's sourcing of products and services essential for our operations. Duties include identifying and qualifying suppliers for a robust supply chain, evaluating quotes, negotiating prices and terms, and purchasing quality products and services following the internal policies and procedures of the Supply Chain department. In addition, this person is responsible for tracking purchases, optimizing inventory levels of procured goods, monitoring supplier performance, and maintaining the relevant information supporting these requirements. This position reports to the Director of Supply Chain.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Actively manages many supplier relationships to optimize and create a lean supply chain with a focus on cost reduction, sustainability goals and long-term opportunistic synergies.
Develops and implements sourcing and supplier selection strategy, implementing supplier agreements/contracts when beneficial by working with cross-functional stakeholders and suppliers to reach agreement on contract terms and conditions.
Establishes and directs a cost reduction program without sacrificing quality and service.
Develops a supplier management program including metrics, performance goals and improvement initiatives.
Responsible for planning raw materials and purchased component requirements, based on usage and current demand.
Analyzes purchases, costs, deliveries, product performance, and inventories, directing suppliers and adjusting inventory levels accordingly.
Works closely with all other departments and department heads to ensure material and supplies needs are met on time.
Secures and evaluates quotes from suppliers.
Creates and tracks Purchase Orders for all the materials, supplies, services and/or tools needed.
Maintains data that affects the company's operating system functionality such as lead-time, reorder points, safety stock, etc.
Cooperates with Receiving and Accounts Payable departments and assists with purchase dispute resolution.
Creates and/or updates internal procedures, work instructions and formats needed by the department.
Participates in site leadership activities including safety, continuous improvement and cost saving projects.
Other responsibilities as needed/directed by supervisor.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or related field preferred.
A minimum of 5 years of supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
Previous experience using an MRP/ERP system highly desirable.
Ability to handle multiple priorities and remain focused and organized.
Ability to prepare accurate, effective, complete, and easily understood written communications and reports for internal and external users.
Advanced computer skills and ability to compile and present information and data utilizing Microsoft Office.
Ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
Willingness to comply with applicable laws and regulations, TFT Handbook and other Company policies and procedures.
Able to perform routine tasks and deliverables with minimal supervision.
Work typically carried out in an office environment and operating plant environment.
Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Must wear personal protective equipment while inside Plant site process areas (Protective foot gear, eye protection, other site-specific equipment).

DIFFICULTY OF WORK AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment conditions described are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this position.

Duties are performed in a standard office environment and in the field demonstrating company products. Frequently works alone and with others in a team environment, works rapidly for long periods and works on several tasks at the same time.

Regularly work extended, weekend and/or evening hours, and regularly travels out of town, often overnight. Occasionally responds to emergencies on a 24-hour basis.

Occasional exposure to a manufacturing environment. Exposed to noise and heavy machinery normally associated with manufacturing operations, where safety precautions must be always followed to avoid injury to self and others. Duties involve close vision and computer use, sitting for long periods, lifting.
