Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center is seeking a NICU Registered Nurse Team Coordinator!Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center - Woodbridge, VARN Team Coordinator - NICU~Full Time & Rotating Shift~40 hours/week

Hours are typically a mix of Day shift (7:00am-4:00pm) and Evening shift (3:00-11:00pm) with an occasional Night shift due to staffing needs.

Minimum Qualifications:

Registered Nurse (RN) License - Compact/Multi-State License OR
Registered Nurse (RN) License - Single State - Virginia
RN-Bachelor's Degree
2 years NICU RN experience
Previous Nursing leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications:

RN-Master's Degree
3 years NICU RN experience
Previous Charge Nurse experience
Experience with high-risk deliveries

Position shares the 24/7 responsibility to assist the manager for the daily operations of one or more clinical areas.
Supervises patient care services staff to ensure patient safety, provides high quality outcomes and an exceptional patient/family experience.
Assists manager in the development and monitoring of the departmental budget; coordinates the purchasing and payroll processes; serves as a technical/clinical resource to team members; and performs work assignments as needed to provide appropriate coverage and to mentor/assist staff.
Assists manager with interviewing, hiring, developing, and retaining staff members with the goal of developing a highly reliable work team.
May coordinate and/or assist with staff education, orientation and precepting of members of the team.
Utilizes effective communication/ interpersonal skills and is able to adapt leadership style to support achieving department goals and objectives.

The SNVMC NICU is a Level II, 14-bed unit managed in partnership with Children's National Health System to provide expert care to our tiniest new arrivals. Our NICU is directed by board-certified neonatologists with neonatal nurse practitioners from the Children's National Division of Neonatology.
