*This position works out of our Altavista, VA location in the Abbott Nutrition division. * Our Nutrition business develops science-based nutrition products for people of all ages, from helping babies and children grow to keeping adult bodies strong and active. *What Youll Work On*

+ Maintenance of the plants high-speed production equipment that makes our industry-leading nutrition products

+ Non-repetitive mechanical repairs and troubleshooting

+ Mechanical fluid and utility system troubleshooting

+ Fabrication, machining and welding

+ Installation or rearrangement of equipment

+ Completion of work documentation

Youll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.

*Required Qualifications*

+ High School Diploma or GED

+ Understanding of mechanical systems

+ Mechanical and spatial aptitude

+ Good math and writing skills

+ Knowledge of hydraulic and fluid systems as well as proper lubrication procedures with oil and grease

*Preferred Qualifications*

+ Welding certification preferred

+ Backflow prevention certification preferred
