Accounts Payable Specialist

Route incoming correspondence and prepare invoices for processing. Manage and analyze large amounts of data for accuracy. Establish vendor and employee master file data in expense management systems. Process vendor and supplier invoices in Basware/SAP and Ajera/Deltek. Understand the relationship between general ledger accounts. Prepare account analysis by vendor and by account. Communicate with vendors, buyers and other members of the organization to resolve problems. Reconcile credit card statements to the vendor ledger. Ensure project expenses are posted properly by phase and activity (WBS). Send ad-hoc payments and assist in all areas of general accounting as needed. Resolve purchase orders, ensure credit is received for outstanding bills, and issue stop-payments or purchase order amendments. Communicate with creditors about the company's liabilities. Provide excellent customer service, ensuring quick and accurate communication. Work across departments on complex order resolution. Handle all AP audit requests, both internal and external. Utilize shared mailboxes and workflow queues.

Hard Skills

+ Manual invoice processing (experience with Deltek Ajera or any large ERP)

+ Excel - VLOOKUPs/Pivot Tables

+ Understanding of debits/credits - US and Canada portfolio

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Herndon, Virginia and some days remote.

Work Environment

Hybrid 1x per week to Herndon location | M-F 8a-5p or 9a-6p | During month end, expect additional 2-3 hours per week, with opportunity for OT.
