The Federal Civilian business unit supports a wide range of customers that span the federal, commercial, and nonprofit space. Our customers include the General Services Administration, Office of Personnel Management, PAN Foundation, Library of Congress, Social Security Administration, Health and Human Services, and the USDA Forest Service. We partner with these agencies to build new capabilities, deliver products, establish data as a strategic asset for informed decision-making, modernize legacy systems, and build the digital service infrastructure necessary to scale their mission impact.

Primary Responsibilities:

In this role, you will serve as an individual contributor within a team; with the support and guidance of leadership, you will be responsible for supporting the goal of meeting scope, schedule and delivery requirements. You will begin to develop an awareness and understanding of the design function within the program, as well as interact with stakeholders. Primary expectations for a Designer II include:

• Focused on program tactical assignments, but may support more strategic initiatives in support of meeting defined milestones

• Delivers design work including discovery artifacts, sketches and rough prototypes, wireframes, UX flows, and high fidelity prototypes

• Utilizes design skills including typography and hierarchy

• Maintains ownership of assigned deadlines

• Proactively partners with Senior Designers, and is receptive to mentorship

• Conducts competitive analyses and reports results to stakeholders

• Contributes to design libraries, providing visual design and brand artifacts

• Contributes to human centered design processes and deliverables in compliance with standards and regulations

• May manage accessibility tasks inclusive of 508 compliance and have knowledge of other emerging accessibility standards

• Collaborates with a multi-disciplined team to facilitate discussions and articulate goals in order to deliver upon requirements

• May develop and manage content for highly visible websites or applications, abiding by design guidelines

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience

• Experience with Accessibility Guidelines and best practices such as (WCAG, 508 compliance)

• Effectively applies design principles to project/ program requirements

• Experience with design software such as Figma, Miro, Adobe or other designer tools

Preferred Qualifications:

In support of theColorado Equal Pay Transparency Act, and others like it across the country, Ad Hoc job descriptions feature the starting range we reasonably expect to pay to candidates who would join our team with little to no need for training on the responsibilities we've outlined above. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and responsibility.
