SEASONAL POSITION INFORMATION: This is a seasonal position, the length of seasonal employment is dependent on business demand and typically runs 3-6 months, however, a minimum timeframe cannot be guaranteed.Yes! We do often our high-performing seasonal gearheads to regular status, these decisions are based on business demands and performance.Seasonal positions are not eligible for benefits; however, you do get to participate in our employee discount perk and it's a good one!

BLACKOUT DATES AND HOLIDAY INFORMATION: Our warehouse will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Years Day; and we typically work shorter hours on Christmas Eve and New Years Eve. To support our busiest season, our Backcountry fulfillment centers have a blackout period for time off requests. The blackout period is typically from November 10th through December 23rd. During this blackout period, time off requests cannot be approved.

OVERTIME: When volume and business demands permit, we will post weekly schedules with overtime. When/if we have a need for employees to work overtime, the AM Shift is usually scheduled to start their shift1-hour before normal shift times, the PM Shift is usually scheduled to end their shift 1-hour after normal shift times, and the Weekend Shift is usually scheduled an extra day since they already work 10- and 12-hour shifts. This is all subject to change based on volume and business demands.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Stand and walk for your entire shift
Read and Audit Labels
Identify, count, and sort packages and inventory with a high level of accuracy
Understand and differentiate between shipping methods and sort packages accordingly
Use automated packaging equipment
Participate in team meetings, follow guidance, and provide feedback as appropriate
Maintain a clean workspace
Fixing problems that occur to ensure inventory and/or shipping accuracy
Resolving inventory issues by adjusting inventory
Perform other duties as assigned
Participate in LEAN initiatives

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS and ABILITIES:

Prefer high school diploma or equivalency
Verbal and written comprehension of the English language required
Fundamental math skills required
Must be able to apply established procedures and follow oral/written instructions
Must be able to work independently without direct supervision and organize/prioritize workload to ensure completion of all tasks within established time frames
Computer skills, including familiarity with the internet and email required
Experience operating power industrial equipment (for example, standing order picker or forklift)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Regularly use hearing/speech abilities to communicate with coworkers, give/receive instruction, listen for equipment malfunctions, etc.
Regularly use sight abilities: depth perception, hand/eye/foot coordination, visual acuity in near-, mid-, and far-range vision
Regularly stand/walk on concrete floor
Frequently climb up and down stairs but rarely climb ladders
Frequently bend/twist at waist/knees/neck
Frequently use both hands/ar s to reach/push/pull/lift:

Constant: 10 - 30 lbs.
Occasional: 30 - 60 lbs.
Rarely: less than 10 lbs., or greater than 60 lbs.

Crawling is typically not required
Work is performed indoors, and noise level in the work environment is usually moderate#BFP #MD-LI1
