Overview:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operations Manager in our Northern Virginia/DC district. Due to the incredible success we have experienced since entering the market there, you will work hand in hand with executive leadership and provide oversight to all ongoing projects and ensure continued success in the pursuit of work in the district.

What you will be doing:

You will oversee multiple projects, teams and pursuits across the division.
Providing technical and leadership expertise to project bids and projects during construction, working closely with estimating, bid review committees and project construction teams.
Regularly review proposed project plans to ensure compliance with contract cost estimate, production goals and quality adherence.
Coordinate with HR to ensure all projects have accurate personnel assigned and we are ahead wherever possible when it comes to recruiting efforts for upcoming project needs.
Review weekly and monthly project status and financial reports, ensuring accuracy, identifing gaps and implementing trainings and corrective action plans where required.
Oversee and/or assist with Owner and regulatory relations, presentations and change order requests, as needed.
Participate in selection and contract execution with subcontractors and suppliers.
Oversee and/or audit project cost controls, budgets, invoicing, estimates and project forecasting and provide input to upper management related to district project operations and status.

What we are looking for:

15+ years experience in heavy civil construction required.
12+ years experience managing construction teams required.
Bachelors Degree a plus.
Previous hands on experience and expert knowledge in the management of complex large scale heavy civil/highway projects, means and methods, business and financial risk management required.
Strong communication skills with the ability to set clear expectations with direct reports and appropriate stakeholders. Able to hold personnel and third-party participants accountable to expectations and deliverables.
Strong leadership skills to support internal talent growth and mentorship at multiple projects types and locations.
Proficient multi-tasking and prioritization skills to provide technical guidance to scheduling, production, construction issues and Owner relationship situations.
Proven knowledge and ability to manage claims process and negotiate with Owner regarding project issues.
Proven skill and ability to lead multiple teams from different functions towards a common goal.
Strong conflict management skills.

Salary Min:
USD $200,000.00/Yr.

Salary Max:
USD $250,000.00/Yr.

Vehicle Program:
Personal Vehicle Allowance Tier II: $950 USD/month
