1 - ASCP, AMT or equivalent certification
2 - Associate's degree or higher in Clinical Lab Science (or related)
3 - Willingness to relocate to Vernal, UT
4 - Prior work authorization - we do not offer sponsorships for this role
5- Prior hospital experience (preferred)
Shift Hours:
Evening shift from 1:00 pm-11:00 pm > in a 7 on / 7 off rotation.
The Medical Laboratory Tech / Medical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for the performance of laboratory testing and will work with the Laboratory Director, Pathologists, and Technologists to provide prompt and accurate lab testing for patients of our hospital and surrounding community.
Essential Duties:
Collects specimens for laboratory examination by venipuncture, various culture techniques, etc.
Adheres to OSHA, CLIA, and Joint Commission regulations.
Works without supervision or assistance.
Responds to codes, traumas, and emergencies immediately.
Operates and maintains all instruments. Maintains and documents quality control.
Keeps appropriate logs and records, data entry and retrieval of patient results, and accession of patient specimens.
Reports STAT results within 60 minutes, perform manual tests as required, and set up bacteria on appropriate media.
