About the Role

The Principal Technical Product Manager will lead cross-group product innovation across a set of inter-related projects spanning multiple business lines at Pearson. The role requires strong project management and communication skills, with a keen sense for process optimization. The Principal TPM can assess when design/implementation choices pose a risk to delivering future value. He/she will manage projects, identify and mitigate risks, clear project blockers, hold cross-discipline teams accountable for delivery, ensure features are tested and meet quality definitions, handle releases, and will be responsible for post-launch monitoring. This role can be a remote US position with availability to flex across multiple time zones, as stakeholders' locations range from Australia, US, and the UK. As an organization with a global customer and employee footprint, some domestic and international travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute product strategies that align with the Workforce Solution business unit's vision and business objectives.

• Work across Pearson to determine synergies between products and how they as a collective can drive greater value for enterprise customers.

• Build consensus with other product managers, developers, and design on technical and UX approach.

• Define product and technical requirements and prioritize features based on customer feedback, market demand, and business goals.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, marketing, sales, analytics, customer support, and professional services to ensure successful product launches and ongoing product success.

• Garner an understanding of compliance, legal, internationalization, accessibility, and other ongoing needs to help engineering and UX design make the right CX trade-offs.

About You

Key Experiences & Skills:

• Product Leadership Experience : 6+ years of experience in technical product management or program management, with responsibility over project / product delivery.

• B2B Product Expertise: Experience in B2B and/or internal product initiatives leadership, with previous experience in HR/people functions a significant plus.

• International Experience : Demonstrated experience within a global organization, with an understanding of cultural nuances.

• Commercial Acumen : Strong ability to deliver seamless end-to-end user journeys that help drive significant commercial returns.

• Analytical Nature : Ability to use data to make key decisions on tradeoffs on product initiatives. Skilled in analyzing and reporting on metrics and KPIs.

• Project Management : Proven experience driving large cross-group collaboration projects with dotted-line ownership across the prioritization trade-offs.

• Delivers Results : Able to deliver technical product requirements and project plan, and then execute it, tempering enthusiasm for innovation with tactical prioritization of must-have features that customers require to have a frictionless experience.

Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the California, Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, New York State, New York City, Washington State, and Washington DC laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:

The minimum full-time salary range is between $150,000 - $155,000.
