Urologist - Urology of North Florida - Gainesville Area

Overview:
The Medical Urologist will responsible for diagnosing, treating, and help prevent benign and malignant medical and surgical disorders of the genitourinary system and the renal glands. We will provide J1 visa support if needed. The candidate must be board certified or board eligible in the United States.
Located under an hour from both Gainesville and Jacksonville, Lake City is known as The Gateway to Florida and The World's Freshwater Fishing Capital, as the community also enjoys unique proximity to many Florida parks and freshwater springs.

Major Responsibilities:
Diagnose or treat diseases or disorders of genitourinary organs and tracts including erectile dysfunction (ED), infertility, incontinence, bladder cancer, prostate cancer, urethral stones, or premature ejaculation.
Diagnose medical conditions.
Administer cancer treatments.
Treat chronic diseases or disorders.
Document or review patients' histories.
Gather medical information from patient histories.
Record patient medical histories.
Order and interpret the results of diagnostic tests, such as prostate specific antigen (PSA) screening, to detect prostate cancer.
Analyze test data or images to inform diagnosis or treatment.
Order medical diagnostic or clinical tests.
Perform abdominal, pelvic, or retroperitoneal surgeries.
Operate on patients to treat conditions.
Examine patients using equipment, such as radiograph (x-ray) machines and fluoroscopes, to determine the nature and extent of disorder or injury.
Operate diagnostic imaging equipment.
Treat lower urinary tract dysfunctions using equipment such as diathermy machines, catheters, cystoscopes, and radium emanation tubes.
Operate diagnostic or therapeutic medical instruments or equipment.
Prescribe or administer antibiotics, antiseptics, or compresses to treat infection or injury.
Administer non-intravenous medications.
Prescribe medications.
Provide urology consultation to physicians or other health care professionals.
Advise medical personnel regarding healthcare issues.
Treat urologic disorders using alternatives to traditional surgery such as extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy, laparoscopy, and laser techniques.
Direct the work of nurses, residents, or other staff to provide patient care.
Supervise patient care personnel.
Refer patients to specialists when condition exceeds experience, expertise, or scope of practice.
Refer patients to other healthcare practitioners or health resources.
Perform brachytherapy, cryotherapy, high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU), or photodynamic therapy to treat prostate or other cancers.
Teach or train medical and clinical staff.
Train medical providers.
Prescribe medications to treat patients with erectile dysfunction (ED), infertility, or ejaculation problems.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
MD or MD/PhD with medical training specifically in urology
Must be Board certified and/or Board eligible in urology with a state license in good standing.
If Board eligible, must be willing to take the boards and pass
Ability to interpret clinical, genomic and efficacy data.
Motivated to work in a fast-paced environment.
Technical skills to operate medical equipment and tools related to urology treatment
Ability to effectively communicate with patients, technicians, fellow medical professionals and other clinic team members.
