• Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
• Acts as lead employee over one or more employees engaged in pinpointing leakage, making repairs, and replacing services or portions of mains.
• Testing and inspecting service lines according to policy/procedures and approved codes.
• Must be able to use various types of tools needed for repairs of plant facilities.
• Must be able to prepare legible records and understand written and oral communications.
• Must have ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations concerning pipeline safety and underground construction practices preferred.
• Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications for Position:
• Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to operate company vehicles.
• Must be capable of passing applicable physical capacity tests.
• Must be detail-oriented and able to follow through on assignments with limited direction.
• Requires the ability to organize and prioritize duties and responsibilities.
• Must be able to document records and understand written and oral communications.
• Must be able to perform basic arithmetic calculations.
• Mechanical aptitude and knowledge and/or experience of hand tools is required.
• Demonstrated ability to deal with difficult customer situations with tact and diplomacy is required.

• Performs work in a safe manner, including use of required personal protective equipment in accordance with Company safety policies and procedures.
• Acts as lead person in scheduling and planning work.
• Orders materials as required.
• Responsible for the safe and reliable operation & maintenance of natural gas pipelines and associated facilities.
• Performs pipeline operations and maintenance activities.
• Communicates with general public, contractors, landowners and government relative to natural gas operations.
• Performs general housekeeping duties for company facilities.
• Operates company trucks, equipment, mowers to perform operations and maintenance duties.
• Uses hand and power tools, and other equipment such as power winch, pneumatic tools (pavement breakers, jack hammers and tampers), trimmers, chain saws and water pumps. Uses various hand tools such as shovels, pipe and ratchet wrenches, dies, pipe cutters, etc. to perform operations and maintenance duties.
• Periodically assists in repair of leaks (using electronic leakage detection equipment) and/or construction jobs.
• Responsible for all required documentation either in written form or electronic, using PC and/or hand held device. Completes Work Orders, enters data into Job Plans, creates new Work Orders, etc.
• May have to pass a physical capacity assessment to be awarded the position.
