About You:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
Bilingual in Spanish and English is required - Portuguese is a plus
Minimum 1-3 years Underwriting experience from either an insurance or reinsurance background
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent critical reasoning, numerical reasoning, problem solving, analytical and creative thinking skills
Technical and presentation skills suitable for a professional environment
Strong interpersonal skills: able to engage clients, brokers and colleagues and gain their trust as a partner and collaborator.
Ability to produce and work with system- generated reports.
Highly collaborative and versatile, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and multi - task
What You'll Be Doing:

You'll be underwriting our Political Violence products in line with our high standards
Negotiate with brokers on new and renewal business and involve senior management in the process as needed.
Negotiate with brokers on endorsements
Working towards setting targets each month including profitability, conversion and productivity
Develop your sales skills and appreciation of sales and underwriting strategy in collaboration with the wider teams and regions
Effectively negotiate with both internal and external parties including identified points of contact with a brokerage
Challenging non-standard underwriting decisions leveraging the expertise of product specialists and underwriting managers
Showing courage and innovation by spotting process improvements and how we can do things differently to improve the customer experience and drive profitable growth
Travel as required to meet with clients and brokers, attend and conduct client reviews, and attend industry conferences.
Bring strong external brokers and client relationships to the Hiscox team

Salary Range: 70-80k
