About this Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Ultrasound Technologist to join our team on weekends at Watauga Medical Center.
The Weekend Ultrasound Technologist will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations on patients during weekend shifts.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment and contribute to the delivery of high-quality imaging services to our patients.
Responsibilities include:
Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations on patients according to physician orders and established protocols.
Prepare patients for procedures, explain the imaging process, and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the examination.
Operate ultrasound equipment to obtain high-quality images of the anatomy being studied, adjusting settings as needed to optimize image quality.
Analyze images for clarity and accuracy, recognizing and documenting any abnormalities or variations.
Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare team members to review imaging studies and ensure accurate interpretation and reporting.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including image acquisition and patient history.
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory requirements, including radiation safety and infection control measures.
Participate in quality assurance activities and assist in the development of departmental policies and procedures.
Provide support and assistance to other members of the imaging team as needed.
Compensation is commensurate with education and experience.
Hiring compensation ranges from $29.00 - $42.00 per hour.
Eligible for PRN and shift differential on top of base rate of pay.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field from an accredited program.
Current certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS).
Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association is required at time of hire.
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist preferred.
Strong knowledge of ultrasound imaging principles, techniques, and equipment operation.
Proficiency in the use of ultrasound machines and related software systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to work weekend shifts as scheduled.
