Manages the daily operations of more than two small to medium sized specialty divisions or a large specialty division (determined by faculty and staff headcount) with complexity primarily in the areas of administration management. Represents the department on administrative affairs to the institution community.

Responsibilities

•Reporting to the Division Chief of Hematology/Oncology and the AVP, COO of the Cancer Center, the Division Administrator serves as the business, financial and administrative link.
•The senior manager for finance and administration is responsible for the financial reporting of the divisional accounts to the Division Chief, and senior management.
•Advise Division Chief and other leadership on strategic matters related to program planning, faculty recruitment, and utilization of funding and other resources
•Work closely with Division Chief to develop/update comprehensive plan for Division's growth and continued success
•With Division Chief, champion efforts to promote the Division and its programs
•Oversee all administrative aspects of faculty recruitment, including development of business plans and offer packages
•Manage all aspects of sponsored research administration in the Division, including pre- and post-award support and effort reporting
•Oversee all aspects of divisional budgeting and financial projections, including budget development and variance reporting
•Ensure compliance and accuracy of financial transactions
•Review/approve financial transactions, including oversight of complex procurement transactions
•Administer the divisional physician compensation plan, including review and reporting of physician productivity and distribution of faculty incentives
•Audit and review physician billing service reports to track income with operational (productivity) data
•Audit, review, and reconcile external sources of revenue.
•Supervise administrative support staff and perform annual evaluations
•Ensure faculty members receive appropriate administrative support
•Provide staff training, ensure necessary coverage, and oversee staff development
•Manage all aspects of Human Resources matters within the Division, including staff recruitment and onboarding, working closely with departmental leadership and HR personnel
•Oversee faculty onboarding, including academic appointments, licensing, credentialing, hospital privileges, and payor enrollments
•Oversee reappointment and promotion of faculty
•Working closely with the Division Chief and other members of Division leadership, will develop, plan, and direct special projects, which may include space renovations, space allocations, staffing, equipment purchases, long-range planning, and/or leasing of off-campus space and services Perform additional related responsibilities as needed

Business Acumen - Demonstrates a clear understanding of all areas of the business (education, research, clinical care, finances and operations), customers (students, trainees, faculty, community), resources, educational trends, new advances, and uses skills in planning, prioritization, decision-making, and resource allocation to drive desired results; knowledge of Federal, State and higher education accounting and reporting requirements and standards; and financial analysis and accounting principles.
Knowledge of computer systems, software applications, and automated financial systems.

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Finance or directly related field is required.
Masters degree in Business Administration or related field is preferred.

Experience:

Eight (8) years of related business experience, including four (4) years supervisory experience is required.

Voluntary retirement programs are also available to invest before- or after-tax dollars with the choice of five quality retirement plan providers.

Time Off - A generous leave program offers multiple paid leave options:

Front-loaded Paid Time Off:
128 to 208 hours (16 to 26 days) of Paid Time Off based on years of service, given at the start of each fiscal year. PTO may be prorated in year one based on date of hire.
Extended Illness Bank:
8 hours (1 day) accrued per month which can be used for illness or injury after one day of Paid Time Off is taken.
Paid Family Leave:
Up to 240 hours (6 weeks) to care for a spouse, child, or p.
