Tarvos Talent is seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Controller for a leading provider in the oil & gas industry.

The Assistant Controller role is a key position within the organization, offering a competitive compensation package, good benefits, and the flexibility of working from home on Fridays.
As the Assistant Controller, your responsibilities will include financial reporting, assisting in month-end and year-end closing processes, conducting financial analysis, assisting in budgeting and forecasting, establishing and maintaining internal control procedures, supporting audit processes, ensuring tax compliance, utilizing financial software and systems, supervising a team of professionals, and participating in special financial projects.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, CPA certification, and 8-10+ years of relevant experience in financial reporting and technical accounting, preferably in a publicly traded company.
Big 4 experience is preferred.
You should have a strong understanding of GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX Compliance, experience working with operations, excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
Experience with financial reporting software and ERP systems is required, along with prior management experience.
Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential, along with strong interpersonal skills.
Experience in the oil and gas industry is preferred.
