The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.

Research billing and payment issues/problems.
Answers customer questions (in person or via letter) on any business-related issues to customers.
Keeps accounting records for all payments collected by the Tax Department.
Reconciles daily reports with financials reports.
Prepares Budget and Cash Flow Reports.
Monitors the budget to keep the department on track and avoid deficiencies.
Uses analytical thinking to solve problems logically.
Prepares presentations on collections and performance measures.
Keeps control of department files to comply with Record Retention Policies.
Tracks and records inventory for the department.
Pays bills timely following the City's policies and regulations.
Assists with tax billing as needed.
Updates tax records as changes are reported by the Webb County Appraisal District.
Will be required to drive a city vehicle for City business use.
Performs related work as required.

Minimum QualificationsRequired Education and Experience

Associates Degree or 60 completed college hours from an accredited* college or university in Business Administration, Public Administration, Accounting, Computer Science or related field.
At least five (5) years of experience in office administration or accounting.

Valid Texas Driver License. If applicant holds an out-of-state license, a State of Texas Driver License must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
