As an integral part of our organization, you'll play a crucial role in the Life Support & Systems Projects section in the Engineering Department on the NASA JSC Engineering, Technology and Science II (JETS II) Contract.

Someone in this role would typically have a bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of two (2) years of experience. This position can be hired at any level in our professional career framework, depending on business need at the time of hire.

• International travel may be required. Straight time overtime, 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off), and/or 1 day of telework per week may be available

SOME OF YOUR MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

• Perform, review, and present architecture trade studies and analyses that will influence the overall design and performance.
• Perform requirements decomposition and develop requirements.
• Develop verification and validation plans and statements.
• Develop interface control documents.
• Review and provide comments on program documentation.
• Support trade studies on crew equipment, such as toilet, advanced clothing, trash, etc.
• Review the Phase III hazard reports and associated verification products.
• Coordinate with the Gateway Crew Systems system management team.
• Work in a team environment and report to the team lead to provide status on progress and issues and for support.
• Perform other duties as required.

REQUIRED

• A BS Engineering degree from an accredited engineering school and a minimum of two (2) years of related experience.
• Experience with the development of space systems requirements documents including functional requirements and verification success criteria.
• Experience with the design, assembly, verification, testing, and operation of space systems including Habitation.
• Basic knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in the space hardware field, such as mechanical and electrical system design, engineering drawings and sketches, material selection, and design of software and tools.

PREFERRED

• Familiar with Johnson Space Center (JSC) organizations, processes, and procedures.
• Experience with spacecraft habitation systems.
• Experience with model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
• Experience with Systems Engineering processes and techniques.

Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
