Wound Care RNMemorial Hospital in Temple, TX, part of Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a full time Registered Nurse (RN) to join our amazing Level One Emergency Department.
Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital is a 636-bed specialty care teaching hospital and the only Level 1 Trauma Center between Dallas and Austin.
Monday thru Friday (8-hour days) no call, weekends, or holidaysJoin a great team of professionals that provide evidence based wound care services to inpatient populationContinued education, evidence-based practices, opportunity to present at national conferencesThe Wound Ostomy team stages all pressure injuries.
We see patients with the following wounds:
vascular ulcerssome arterial ulcersDiabetic foot ulcersFistulas & Peg Tube issuesMoisture Associated Skin Damage (MASD)Incontinence Associated Dermatitis (IAD)We have Physical Therapy Wound Team that takes care of:

Job SummaryThe Wound Care Registered Nurse assesses patients, establishes diagnoses, and creates healthcare plans.
They observe and evaluate patient responses.
This role ensures patient safety during healthcare journeys by understanding patient needs and assisting with encounters.What You'll DoConduct clinical assessments maintaining the highest standard of practice.Be proactive in designing, implementing, and evaluating nursing care plans.Take part in initiatives to improve quality and performance.Build therapeutic relationships with both patient and family.Engage in collaborative and mutual work with colleagues and the community.What Will Make You Successful In The RoleYou need a good understanding of nursing standards and patient care.Understanding legal and ethical considerations is important for success.Good communication skills are essential.You must be a problem solver who can quickly detect and react to changes in patients.You will also need to know how to use computers and medical software.Belonging StatementWe think everyone should feel welcome, valued, and supported.
Our workforce should reflect our communities.QualificationsCompletion of an associates degree in nursing from an accredited institution.BSN PreferredA minimum of (3) three years of relevant nursing experience.Holding an effective Registered Nurse licensureMust have Basic Life Support certification or obtain it within 30 days of starting the job.Must have 1 year minimum dedicated RN Wound Care Experience - Inpatient or outpatient Must be proficient applying NPWT (Wound VACs)Must be proficient performing conservative sharps debridement certification preferredMust be skilled in application of compression leg dressingsExperience in ostomy care and educationCurrent certification highly preferred in at least one of the following:
