Construction Manager I Electrical / Fiber Optics

Overview:

Responsible for directing, planning and managing construction activities to help ensure project completion within assigned schedule and budget and in compliance with Company safety and procedural policies. The duties of a Construction Manager will vary by client and project size with varying degrees of responsibility and authority.

Location & Travel Details: You'll get the opportunity to travel across the US, helping our team build renew able projects. This is a traveling position (up to 100%), where you will be traveling to multiple project sites on an as-needed basis. You have the potential to be traveling to project sites located in any state throughout the US. We offer designated daily per diem in addition to base pay to support and help you cover living expenses. A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided. We will consider candidates living in states other than Dallas, as long as the travel component can be fulfilled.

Responsibilities:

Promote and comply with all Company and safety policies and procedures

Oversee all construction activities, specific to assigned discipline, on assigned project

Construct the project and work with the management team to maximize the profit of the project

Monitor and oversee construction activities and personnel within the delivery timelines, including development plans and training requirements

Keep Construction Manager II/III informed of overall construction activity progress & performance along with monitoring and review of construction key performance indicators

Cooperate with all matters relating to health and safety, including following safe working procedures at all times

Act as a role model for the company's vision and values, behaving in ways that are in alignment with the company's ways of working while encouraging other to do so as well

Take necessary care to properly protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of corporate information from unauthorized disclosure, modification or destruction

Build, Supervise & lead teams

Communicate effectively with crew leads on goals and expectations

Ensure the Foremen manage crews and subcontractors to provide a safe work environment

Manage the Foremen with the CM III to facilitate and environment for all Foreman and crews to work in a respectful, constructive and positive environment

Manage the construction package elements of the procurement process

Monitor contract performance against project milestones, budget and other established metrics

Care for and sustain business relationships with multiple clients

Work with the CM III to ensure Client expectations are being met, along with the agreement and scope of work

Build and maintain a relationship with Client Site Representatives to ensure open communication and trust

Ensure all work in assigned discipline is done to the company Safety and Quality standards

Be proactive in equipment management, preventing equipment damages and planning of equipment resources

Complete personnel administrative tasks in a timely manner; expectation documents, performance management, task planners, employee change forms, etc.

Work closely with the Field Operations team on resource management to ensure we have the right people on the project at the right times to drive project profitability

Support Business Development, Estimating and Preconstruction efforts as needed

Qualifications:

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

Seven years of construction industry experience/knowledge of construction techniques, estimating and construction management. A combination of education and experience will be considered, such as a bachelor's degree (B. S. ) in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field and three years of experience, or an associate's degree (A. S. ) in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field and five years of experience

Must have at least three years of experience working on large sized electrical construction projects. Our projects are utility scale renewable construction projects in solar, wind and energy storage environments; EPC project experience or similar scale project experience required.

Fiber optics experience is preferred, but general electrical construction experience in large project environments (as noted above) will be considered.

Must be able to navigate in basic computer software including email; role will require use of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook and other software as needed.

Fiber Optics ETA certification, OSHA 10, NCCER, QEW, DOT Medical Examiners Card preferred but not required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Read, analyze and interpret blueprints, professional journals, technical procedures, contracts or governmental regulations

Write reports, business correspondence and document project activities

Effectively present information and respond to questions from project managers, superintendents, clients, customers and the general public

Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume

Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
