Student Programming and Employer Relations:
Plans and completes the full life-cycle of career development programs, from idea generation to assessment; including annual Career Fair and Residency Showcase, P4 career interviews, P1 internship interviews, and other related career services workshops.
Works with the Office of Student Affairs and the Events and Logistics Coordinator to oversee logistics related to implementation of programs.Convenes an annual meeting and roundtable of local and regional employers and recruiters.Includes employers and corporate partners in annual student affairs programming, such as New Student Orientation and wellness initiatives.Explores new employer relationships, travels to meet employers at external sites, and builds agreements for student opportunities, such as potential internships, clinical rotation sites, and full-time positions.Meets with and develops rapport with students, faculty, staff, campus partners, and external stakeholders, both on- and off-campusCommunication:
Serves as the main point of contact for College of Pharmacy student career services.Works with existing database of employer contacts and with the Development and Alumni Relations office to expand the offices employer relations with external stakeholders.Develops advising and promotional materials aligned with college branding.
Markets best practices to increase attendance and participation in career development programming.
Works with the Director of Communications and Marketing to engage students on social media or other platforms related to student success.Designs common central platform to receive internship and position openings, while also publicizing them openly with students.Industry Knowledge, Coaching and Collaboration:
Keeps up to date of national and regional trends related to employment.
Assess industry standards and needs and adjusts career services and programs to meet current industry needs.Provides high-quality career coaching related to resume/CV reviews and interview preparation to students in one-on-one and group settings; trains faculty on foundational career development strategies.Maintains collaborative correspondence with career services leaders across the University, with full participation in the University Career Service Directors roundtables and meetings.Assessment:
Evaluates if program objectives are met and provides recommendations to Assistant Dean for continuous improvements annually.Seeks out information, literature, and trends in higher education and student affairs to apply national best practices in the College of Pharmacy career services programs.
Participates and presents our efforts and outcomes at career services, student affairs, and pharmacy education professional society conferences.Analyzes data to assess the effectiveness of career development activities and implement continuous improvements in strategy to meet college goals.
Presents annual reports on co-curricular outcomes each academic year.Serves on other college and university committees and working groups as requested.Additional duties as assigned.
