Position Summary:
White Construction is seeking an Assistant Controller for its Austin office. The right individual will be results driven, accurate, and motivated to advance their career. Working hand in hand with the Controller and CFO, this person will be a trusted member of the White Construction team and be exposed to the inner workings of a dynamic and growing construction company. Please note this is a full-time on-site position.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Controller and CFO, your roles and responsibilities as Assistant Controller would encompass the following:

•Assist with month-end accounting activities
•Analysis of financial data
•Preparation of Financial Reports
•Prepare closing entries for multiple accounts
•Track insurance policies and record valuation changes
•Working with CFO to develop yearly budget
•Working with CFO to update quarterly projections
•Creation and development of dashboards
•Assist in preparation of monthly WIP report
•Assist in the monthly analysis of project profit projections
•Assist the Controller with the year-end audit process, including gathering necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries
•Prepare sales tax returns
•Manage equipment asset schedule and update depreciation schedule
•Assist CFO by providing industry updates to benchmarking KPIs
•Assist with Subcontractor Qualification requests
•Provide backup as needed to Payroll
•Process Finvari credit card reconciliations
•Assist with development and growth of ERP initiatives

Education/Experience Requirements:
•Bachelor's degree in Accounting
•CPA or pursuit of CPA desirable
•Proven experience with Job Costing, GL, AP, and AR.
•Minimum of 4+ years' experience in construction industry in an accounting role
•Must have experience with Construction Accounting Software (Viewpoint, Sage, CMiC, Timberline, etc.)
•Understanding of construction accounting principles and practices
•Ability to work independently managing multiple priorities at once
•Strict adherence to confidentiality and protection of sensitive information
•Demonstrated expertise in utilizing Excel spreadsheets for financial modeling, data analysis, and report generation in a construction accounting context.
