Job Details Hospital in Central Nebraska needs a traveling med-surg RN with Ortho experience.
Nurse will need to be experienced in general and Ortho.
The position is for twelve hour nights and thirteen weeks in length.
Job Requirements RN's - Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation.
OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass.
Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated.
Schedule Information Shifts & Scheduling: , / self scheduling with cyclic rotation
Weekend Requirement: Every third
Holiday Requirement: Rotate in with perm staff
How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 1 week
Unit Specific Information # of Beds: 22- average daily census of 6
Nurse:Patient Ratios: 1:5-6
Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Total knee replacements, total hip replacements, ankle replacements, total shoulders, spines- back and neck
Are RNs required to titrate drips?: No
Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Pain medications, antibiotics, blood
Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes
Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit? Ratios? Duties?: Yes, 1:13
Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: Tele boxes. Tele techs will read and interpret.
Floating Requirements: MedSurg, rehab, or PCU taking MedSurg acuity
Additional Details Must be flexible and willing to float and work when needed.

Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.
RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract). Additional RTO will not be approved, including after submissions.
