Job Requirements ACLS Preferred
BLS
RN's - Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation.
OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass.
Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated.

RN Ratio (Days): Med-Surg-5 to 1
RN Ratio (Nights): Med-Surg-6 to 1
Shifts Available: 12 hour
Shift Times:
Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
Type of Staff Scheduling: RN's work in a Team Model with Nursing Assistants using 6 week schedule periods.
Scrub/Uniform Color: Navy
Typical Orientation Period: One week per unit (2 weeks)

Unit Specific Information Looking for orthopedic and medical surgical experience.
Educators, supervisors, patient companions, Student Nurse techs, Physical and Occupational therapy, Ortho nurse navigator
Common Patient Diagnosis: Orthopedic surgeries (knee, hip, shoulder), Orthopedic injuries, Oncology, Post Surgical such as hysterectomies, breast reconstruction, plastic surgery, Urological cases and abdominal cases. Behavioral patients awaiting medical clearance
Common Drips / Medications: Heparin gtt, blood products
EMR System: EPIC
IV Pumps: Alaris
Specialty Equipment Available: Code Carts, LUCAS Machines, hoyer lift, Sit and Stand
Unit Challenges: Staffing, Quick turnaround of patients
Patient Experience Challenges / Focus: Postoperative patients meeting goals to be ready for discharge home. Lots of patient movement on unit, many discharges and admissions.
