Travel Nurse RN - Neuro ICU 2,464 per week

Certification Details Hold an active BLS, ACLS, NIH and CA License
Job Details A hospital near Sacramento is looking for experienced Neuro ICU nurses for a travel contract.
The right candidate will have 2 years of experience.
Job Requirements 2 years of ICU experience preferred.
Experience with CVA, ICB, neuro surgeries, craniotomies, neuro interventional radiology, ventriculostomies.
Experience with line insertions.
Schedule Information 12 hr shifts
Shift starts 645
Report is at the bedside
OT and extra shifts are available
Self-scheduling is used, but is not finalized until Manager balances it
Schedules are out 4 weeks
Travelers can access their schedules from home and make themselves "available" for extra shifts and make trades with other staff

Ratios: 1:1 - 2
EMR: Cerner
Charge Nurse: Yes, generally does not take patients, but will do break relief
Nurse Aides: Yes as Safety Attendants (sitters)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holidays: Rotate in with core staff
Scrub Color: Navy - undershirts must be navy, white, or black. Scrub jackets are optional, must be navy
Tele: Yes, must be able to read and interpret EKG strips
Vents: Yes
Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Yes
IV Team: No
RT 24/7: Yes
Pharmacy 24/7: Yes and ICU Pharmacy open during dayshift
Floating: All other Sacramento facilities. Mid-shift float to another facility is rare, but can happen
Floor specific orientation: 1 - 2 days on the floor with preceptor
Common diagnosis / Types of patients: CVA, ICB, neuro surgeries, craniotomies, neuro interventional radiology, ventriculostomies
Additional Details Modules are required done before start. Modules take 3-4 hours -not billable
For Holiday RTO: Travelers will work 2 of the 3 major holidays
Managers will make the final call on scheduling
Holiday time off will be considered, however not guaranteed
PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE, THE DYS EXAM (BASIC) THROUGH UNA IS REQUIRED
