Beds: 27
Patient Types: Total Joints (knees, hips etc), General MS, Appendicitis, colectomies, small bowel, Urology (turp, cysto), CHF, PNA, Sepsis, DM. Patients with addictions in addition to other medical issues
Patient Ratios: RN: Days - 1:5-6; Nights - 1:6-7, Tech: Days & Nights - 1:10-12
Support on the Unit: Charge nurse, RT, 24/7 Hospitalist, Centralized Tele monitoring tech, Rapid Response attended by various staff
Charting System: Cerner
Floating: May float to ICU for Med Surg level patients, may float to ED to task/as helping hands
Orientation: General hospital orientation, 1 shift on unit
Job Requirements RN - 2 years experience
Tech - 1 year; Nursing home experience is accepted
Willing to accept a first-time traveler
Previous Charge RN experience highly preferred - willingness to be trained as Charge
Skills: Chest tubes, traches, drains, wound vacs, IVs, PCAs, Epidurals (rare), IVABX, Heparin gtts; reading and interpret cardiac strips preferred but not required
Tech Skills: ADLs, Feeding, Tray Setup, answering call bells, V/S, blood sugars, ambulate patients, range of motion
Schedule Information Weekend rotation: Every other; travel pairs allowed to work the same weekend generally
No on-call schedule
Holiday Expectations: 2/4 as needed
