Minimum experience - RN: 2 years, Tech: 1 year; Nursing home experience is accepted
First-time traveler acceptance: Yes
Patient Types: Total Joints (knees, hips etc), General MS, Appendicitis, colectomies, small bowel, Urology (turp, cysto), CHF, PNA, Sepsis, DM. Patients with addictions in addition to other medical issues
Job Requirements

RN: Previous Charge RN experience highly preferred - manager is willing to accept travelers without this ONLY if they are willing to be trained as Charge and to work in that capacity as needed during their contract
Skills required: Chest tubes, traches, drains, wound vacs, IVs, PCAs, Epidurals (rare), IVABX, Heparin gtts; not required to reading and interpret cardiac strips but preferable
Tech: ADLs, Feeding, Tray Setup, answering call bells, V/S, blood sugars, ambulate patients, range of motion
Schedule Information

Patient Ratios - RN: Days - 1:5-6; Nights - 1:6-7, Tech: Days & Nights - 1:10-12
Weekend rotation: Every other; travel pairs are allowed to work the same weekend generally
No call expectations
Holiday Expectations: 2/4 as needed
24-hour call off possibility per contract
Time off requires manager approval
Unit Specific Information

May float to ICU for Med Surg level patients
May float to ED to task/as helping hands
Orientation includes general hospital orientation and 1 shift on unit
