Job Details HCA Healthcare (Parent) has an open nursing position at Rapides Regional Medical Center located in Alexandria, Louisiana.
The role is for a Travel RN in the Medical ICU within the South Tower.
The Medical ICU unit has a bed count of 26 and maintains a patient ratio of 2:
1.
RNs and a Unit secretary/COVID runner make up the unit staffing, providing total care.
Technology used includes ventilators, Alaris IV pumps, Balloon pumps, ventriculostomy drains, glucometers, and iMobile phones.
Job Requirements Candidates must be willing to care for COVID-19 patients and possess ICU experience, along with a positive attitude, flexibility, teamwork, a desire for excellence, self-motivation, good communication, and people skills, and the ability to work in a diverse environment.
Advanced skills such as ventilator management, critical care drip knowledge, thorough assessment skills, and proficient knowledge with cardiac, neuro, and respiratory systems are necessary.
Schedule Information All nursing shifts are twelve hours from 7 AM to 7 PM, including every other weekend and holiday requirements.
Self-scheduling is available within certain guidelines.
Unit Specific Information The Medical ICU's Unit Guidelines/Policies are to be attached alongside the hospital specifics.
Procedures performed in the unit include intubations, cardioversions, ventriculostomy drain placements, IABP management, and CRRT among others.
Additional Details The unit has achieved the HCA Unit of Distinction award, finishing overall as the #2 ranked ICU in HCA in 2019.
Quality measures are highly maintained.
The staff benefits from new equipment and technology with several staff members, including managers, being nationally certified.
