Travel Nurse RN - ED - Emergency Department 2,480 per week

Certification Details Holding an active BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIH and CA License is required for this position.

Job Requirements - Unit: ED
• # beds: 30, 5 trauma bays
• Ratios: 1:4
• EMR: Cerner
• Charge Nurse: Yes, generally does not take patients, but will do break relief.
• Nurse Aides: Yes as census and staffing dictates
• Tele: Yes, must be able to read and interpret EKG strips.
• Vents: Yes
• Hospitalist or Intensivist in house: Yes, Hospitalist or Intensivist
• IV Team: No
• RT 24/7: Yes
• Pharmacy 24/7: Yes
Level II Trauma experience required. (Level I Trauma experience would be a PLUS!)
Common diagnosis / Types of patients: Primary trauma center for the area. Standard ED patients. Psych holds with security if agitated.
Schedule Information - Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Holidays: Rotate in with core staff
• Shifts: 12 hr shifts. Shift starts 645. Report is at the bedside. OT and extra shifts are available.
Self-scheduling is used, but is not finalized until Manager balances it. Schedules are out 4 weeks.
Travelers can access their schedules from home and make themselves "available" for extra shifts and make trades with other staff.
Block scheduling is generally not available.
Unit Specific Information Floor specific orientation: 1 - 2 days on the floor with preceptor.
• Scrub Color: Navy - under shirts must be navy, white, or black. Scrub jackets are optional, must be navy.
Additional Details For Holiday RTO: Travelers will work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years).
Managers will make the final call on scheduling, but we will include this verbiage on the confirmation.
Holiday time off will be considered, however not guaranteed.
Modules are required done before start. Modules take 3-4 hours -not billable.
