Description

The Training and Development Specialist will be responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing training programs aimed at enhancing the skills and performance of employees within the property management sector. The role involves evaluating current training needs, developing instructional materials, and conducting training sessions to ensure staff across various departments (leasing, maintenance, management) are equipped with the knowledge to excel in their roles. The specialist will collaborate with managers to support both new hires and ongoing employee development.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

Training Program Development: Design, develop, and implement engaging training programs tailored to the needs of property management employees, including leasing professionals, assistant community managers, community managers, maintenance staff, and administrative teams.
Training Delivery: Facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions on various topics, including leasing best practices, maintenance protocols, customer service, compliance, and property management software.
Employee Onboarding: Lead the new hire orientation process, ensuring employees are effectively integrated into the company's culture, brand, values and operations.
Needs Assessment: Conduct training needs assessments to identify gaps in knowledge or skills and create targeted programs to address these deficiencies.
Progressive Certification: Oversee the in-house certification programs, including the three-level maintenance designation system, ensuring that employees receive timely and effective training for each certification level. Facilitate the progression bonus for employees completing each level.
Training Materials: Develop and maintain training materials, manuals, guides, and multimedia aids that align with company policies, industry regulations, and best practices.
Performance Evaluation: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through surveys, assessments, and feedback, adjusting content to improve learning outcomes.
Collaboration: Work closely with department managers to ensure training initiatives align with company goals and employee performance objectives.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure training programs meet regulatory requirements related to property management, including Fair Housing, safety standards, and other compliance-related issues.
Technology Integration: Utilize learning management systems (LMS) and other technologies to deliver, track, and evaluate training programs.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Education, Business, or a related field preferred.
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in training and development, preferably in property management, real estate, or a related industry.
- Experience designing and implementing training programs for diverse teams, including maintenance and leasing professionals.
Skills:
- Strong presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage learners in a variety of formats (in-person, virtual, etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Ability to assess training needs and develop customized solutions.
- Knowledge of property management software, maintenance operations, and industry-specific regulations.
- Proficiency in Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other educational technologies.
