Position Summary:
Responsible for the periodic maintenance and repair of all primary chiller plant and boiler plant pumps and motors. Maintains proper chemical balance of all assigned water base systems. Promotes energy efficiency in all aspects of plant operations. Researches, designs, and installs various steam, chilled water, and chemical lines to maintain or improve support systems. Coordinates required regulatory compliance inspections, utility outages, and unscheduled outages with appropriate departments to minimize loss of services. Performs rotating shift coverage of the Physical Plant Operators schedule and related duties.
Duties include:
* Completes assigned repairs & preventative maintenance in accordance with designated guidelines.
* Performs complex, detailed repairs to large, heavy equipment, pumps, and motors located in physical plants.
* Coordinates work & scheduled outages with appropriate departments to minimize loss of services.
* Works to maintain equipment for safe, continued service to the hospital.
* Stocks vital parts and materials to ensure plant operation without interruption.
Schedule varies. 12-Hour shift. Rotate weekends and on-call.
