The duties will include:

• Conduct major declaration sessions
• Conduct advising appointments with current and prospective students.
• Hold Zoom drop-in hours
• Lead minor declaration sessions when needed
• Advise students via email, appointments, and drop-ins.
• Assist in the planning of the undergraduate interdisciplinary conference Qualifications Required Qualifications:

• BA/BS in Spanish Studies or a combination of education and relevant work experience to equal at least four years
• Experience with academic advising Preferred Qualifications:

• Excellent attention to detail
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel and Zoom)
• Committed to student confidentiality About the Department About the Department Founded in the 1960s, the Department of Spanish & Portuguese Studies at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities, is widely recognized as a pioneer in the interdisciplinary study of language, literature and more broadly, cultural expressions grounded in theorized and broadly socio-historical perspectives.
We offer BA degrees in Spanish and Spanish and Portuguese Studies and MA and PhD degrees with emphases in Hispanic literatures and cultures, Hispanic linguistics, and Lusophone literatures and cultures.
