We are looking for:
Syensqo is currently seeking a Technical Application Specialist Engineer for our Solvent Extraction Technical Organization in Tempe, AZ to assist with new product introduction, technical service and regional projects. The position will work closely with both the technical and commercial teams to support customer facing project development and implementation. The position will be active in both field and laboratory testing to support plant operational troubleshooting, trials and service projects related to solvent extraction and adjacent applications.
We count on you for:
Support the regional commercial team to execute site projects, troubleshoot operations and introduce new products to the industry with the support of the technical and research organizations. This includes onsite testwork, pilot and plant trials.
Design and execute laboratory experiments along with data interpretation and recommendations to progress regional projects.
Apply statistical and experimental design methods to concurrently investigate multi-variable effects and hypotheses.
Suggest solutions to address unmet customer needs.
Perform duties in a manner that supports site SHE, quality and business key objectives. Support advancement initiatives in the areas of Safety, Zero Defect, Customer Focus and Operations Improvement through utilization of a continuous improvement culture. Ensure strict adherence to site quality policy and procedures.
Design, perform or oversee laboratory experiments to support regional projects and new product applications in the field of Solvent Extraction.
Communicate results, conclusions, next steps and project status to effectively progress projects.
Participate in customer site visits and trials to support the regional team (travel assumed at

Conformance to all safety, quality, customer, regulatory and statutory requirements.
Ability to work standing for extended periods of time and periodic need to lift items up to 50 lbs.

You will bring:
Bachelor or Engineer of Science Chemistry, Chemical Engineer, Metallurgist or other related field
Strong operational and laboratory skills in the area of solvent extraction.
Familiarity with laboratory techniques for the analysis of aqueous and organic solutions (ICP, AA, GC, titration).
Willingness and ability to learn new technologies to match the diverse product applications.
A proven track record of innovative and problem solving skills.
Experience preferred in the field of hydrometallurgy
Moderate rigging for removal and placement of equipment.
Installation and proper alignment of shafts.
Understand and work with a variety of computer software packages including: Google and Microsoft platforms.
Proficiency in English language; oral and written communication with the ability to engage and work with other business functions within the company.
Ability to interact with multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
Ability to speak in public, communicate a point of view and make conclusions from well structured ideas.
Travels and works overtime as required to meet key objectives.

The U. S. base salary range reasonably expected to be paid for this position is 80,000 - 95,000. Since actual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted base salary range. Total compensation for this role also includes bonus and/or other incentives.
