Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and meticulous

Tax Manager

to lead our tax compliance and reporting functions. This role is critical in ensuring full regulatory compliance, optimizing tax strategies, and providing key financial insights to support informed decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of tax laws, corporate accounting standards, and strong analytical abilities to guide strategic financial initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Direct the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
Ensure strict compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulatory standards, including SOX requirements.
Oversee the tax provision process, including account analysis, reconciliation, and double-entry bookkeeping practices.
Collaborate closely with accounting teams to align tax activities with corporate accounting objectives, enhancing financial reporting accuracy.
Prepare and organize audit documentation, providing thorough responses to audit inquiries as needed.
Assess tax implications of business transactions and offer strategic recommendations to management.
Stay current with changes in tax legislation and assess potential impacts on organizational operations.
Utilize accounting software, including Sage, for efficient record-keeping and to manage all tax-related transactions.
Conduct training sessions for team members on tax-related processes and updates.
Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
CPA certification (or equivalent) highly preferred.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in tax management or a similar role within a corporate accounting environment.
Comprehensive understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Proficiency in accounting software; prior experience with Sage software is advantageous.
Familiarity with SOX compliance and associated reporting requirements.
Exceptional analytical skills, particularly in account analysis and financial reporting.
Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple priorities effectively.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex tax concepts clearly.
Preferred Skills and Attributes:

Demonstrated experience in corporate tax strategy, ideally within a mid to large-sized organization.
Proven ability to lead and mentor teams, enhancing overall tax management capabilities.
In-depth knowledge of tax accounting and best practices in financial analysis.
Proficient in using a variety of accounting software and technology solutions.
Strong collaborative skills with the ability to work cross-functionally to achieve organizational goals.
