Description
What You'll Do:
As the System Administrator (HBSS) you will be relied upon to perform the following tasks. You'll be part of a hard-working and dedicated technical team supporting an important DoD mission. This position will be 100% on-site at NAS Patuxent River, MD (not eligible for telework).
Implementing operating system and network device security configuration in accordance with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) approved Security Technical Implementation Guides.
Performing vulnerability assessments using Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG), the Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) Compliance Checker, incorporating automated Benchmarks.
Installing updates to McAfee software as released and in compliance with STIG requirements.
Deploying, maintaining, and tuning McAfee clients to meet current and future standards.
Creating, deploying, and managing custom HBSS signatures.
Monitoring HBSS for intrusions, failures, and other issues.
Monitoring HBSS software to ensure that the clients/servers are operational and reporting properly.
Performing credentialed ACAS scans, creating ACAS scans, creating ACAS scan reports, and updating ACAS plugins.
Creating finalized STIG checklists for their applicable OS experience.
Implementing practical application of OS updates/upgrades in relation to their applicable OS experience, through the utilization of third party software (Ivanti), or through built-in services provided by the OS itself (WSUS).

Requirements
Education and Experience:
BS in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or related technical degree from an ABET-accredited institution. In lieu of degree, 5 years experience as an IT technician on DoD classified networks is acceptable.
5 years of experience as a System Administrator managing DoD Host-Based-Security Systems (HBSS), required.
Experience implementing operating systems and network devices security configuration in accordance with Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) approved Security Technical Implementation Guides.
Experience administering boundary devices (e.g., managed switches, proxy servers, routers, firewalls, cryptography, and intrusion detection systems).
Skilled at performing vulnerability assessments using Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS)
Demonstrated ability to correct flaws and implement technical controls in the hardware or software installed within a network environment.
In-depth knowledge of the DoD Information Assurance Vulnerability Management Program (IAVMP).
You possess DoD Approved Baseline Certification as IAT Level II in accordance with DOD 8570.01-M. (GSEC, Security+CE, SSCP & Vendor certification and IT Training Provider certificate for network environment main operating system).

Security Clearance Requirements:
This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Top Secret clearance. Selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Salary Range:
The estimated salary range for this position will be $125,000 - $145,000 annually, based on an individual's level of experience and skill set. It is our goal at ASEC to provide equitable compensation to all employees.
