Willmar Public Schools is currently seeking applicants for the position of Student Support Specialist.
The Student Support Specialist plays a key role in fostering a positive and safe learning environment by implementing proactive behavior management techniques. This role supports the classroom and other learning settings by managing student behaviors and ensuring a supportive atmosphere for all students. The Student Support Specialist also assists in recording and implementing each student's educational plan to meet their unique learning needs.

Qualifications Required
Highly Qualified Status (Two year degree or higher, 60 college credits toward a degree, or a passing score on the MN approved ParaEducator exam (offered upon hire within the district))
Basic child development educational background or knowledge preferred
Willingness to work with and show respect for students.
Ability to work independently.
Demonstrated communication skills, patience, and flexibility.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to follow the teacher's plan and direction, and communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
Testing Required
