Henry County Schools is accepting applications for Speech Language Pathologists for the 2024-2025 school year.
190 day position - Teacher Salary Scale plus $3000 supplement
The 2024-2025 salary scales have not yet been approved.
Speech and Language Pathologist
The Speech and Language Pathologist (herein after referred to as SLP) is directly responsible to the principal.
Implement procedures approved by the state, district, and the principal for identifying students with speech and language disabilities.
Conduct assessments, analyzing results, and write reports in a timely manner to determine strengths and concerns in areas of speech, voice, fluency, pragmatics, language, and oral motor skills.
Ensure evaluations, IEPs and service delivery are aligned with school, state, and federal guidelines.
Provide high quality speech-language therapy services to students according to students IEPs.
Ensure students' skills are generalized across settings by collaborating with principals and school staff.
Implement the program for speech and language students in the assigned schools(s) and in accordance with district and state policies and regulations.
Research and disseminate information on best practices in the field of speech language pathology to pertinent individuals involved with speech and language students.
Respond to parent needs and concerns in a timely and appropriate manner.
Work with building level staff to maintain and/or coordinate support as related to students with speech-language disorders.
Participate in parent conferences, student support meetings, 504 meetings, special education eligibility meetings, and IEP meetings, as needed.
Prepare and submit reports as required by the school district.
Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications :
Minimum of an S-5 (Master's level) Georgia Educator Service Certification in Speech Language Pathology.
Must have five years of successful therapy practice.
Ability to work well with students, parents, staff and community is required.
High integrity, excellent character, and good professional reputation are essential.
Abide by the Georgia Professional Standards Code of Ethics for Educators.
Ability to be regularly, predictably, and reliably at work.
Ability to perform tasks involving prolonged periods of standing, walking, and sitting.
Ability to perform routine physical activities such as bending and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 pounds.
Vision, hearing, written, and verbal communications are essential factors in performing required tasks.
