[Part-time/Long-term Substitute]
As a part-time, long-term substitute Social Worker, you will deliver measurable results in assisting in the development of student's personal, emotional and social growth to enable them to benefit from their educational program.
Qualifications : Love what you do, assisting students each day to assist them in their educational needs. Must hold a Maine certification and/or license as LMSW, LCSW or masters degree, preferred, from CSWC accredited school of social work. Successful experience working with school-aged children and parents. Experience working with outside agencies and professionals. Have the ability to work on a collaborative team. Understand the structure of an educational setting. Must have the ability to work independently. Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal and diagnostic skills.

Special Services Director and School Principal
Responsibilities :
Student Centered
Schedules and provides individual and/or group services for identified students.
Assists with re-entry plans to school from suspension, hospitalization or out-of-district placement for students.
Communication
Provides identified SPED students and families with appropriate support and referral services.
For identified students, acts as liaison between school and home/family and actively involved community service providers (i.e. hospitals, M.D., counselors', etc.).
Consults with school guidance counselor(s), school nurse, school psychological service providers, principals, classroom teachers and SPED team as needed.
Assist family in developing and monitoring behavior plans for home/school transition for SPED and regular education students.
Assist in SPED/regular education student crisis management through physical restraint and follow-up consequences with staff, family and student. (Separately established performance standards.)
Operational
Functions as a special education team member. This includes attendance at team meetings, participation in Pupil Evaluation Team (PET) meetings, writing annual goals and objectives and quarterly updates for social work serviced SPED students, and participation in TATs (Teacher Assistance Teams).
Completes family/social history as determined by SPED team.
Participates in crisis intervention (school/district Crisis Response Team).
Assist SPED team/classroom teacher in developing and monitoring of behavior plans for SPED or regular education students.
Assumes such other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Special Education Director.

Long-term substitute pay rate (see Substitute Handbook)
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
This position will remain open until a qualified candidate is secured.
