KNBN Newscenter 1, the NBC station in Rapid City, SD, is looking for a
Weekend Sports Anchor/Reporter
to join our growing team. Rapid City is a growing city located in one of the most beautiful parts of the country. It offers a plethora of things to do in your free time, from visiting local attractions like Mount Rushmore, to skiing and hiking in the foothills of the Black Hills!
NewsCenter1/KNBN-TV
produces over 16 hours of local news, weather and sports content each week as we continue to grow our staff in the news department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Anchor and produce sport segments during the Saturday and Sunday newscast.
Report on a variety of high school and college sports, and other outdoor sporting events, d eveloping unique content to drive audience engagement.
Shoot and edit video.
Write sports scripts for broadcast and digital platforms.
QUALIFICATIONS
Journalism, communications, or a related field degree is desired, though equivalent experience will be considered.
Videography and video editing experience is preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast paced environment.
Must be creative, hardworking and a self-starter.
Must possess a valid driver's license and a driving record that is insurable by the company.
Must carry an acceptable level of vehicle insurance as required by the company.
