Diagnoses include Depression, Anxiety, Schizophrenia, Psychosis, Adjustment Disorder
Facility occasionally has violent/aggressive patients
No ECT
Job Requirements
Minimum 1 year experience required
Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing
Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
CPI preferred to have prior to start but can obtain on assignment
Schedule Information
Blocked scheduling will NOT be accommodated
Variable shifts with no guarantee of nights or days
Weekend rotation: every other weekend; 12 hours on the weekend
Combo shifts: 2 12's and 2 8's in a week
8 hr Days:
8 hr Eves:
8 hr Nights:
12 hr Days:
12 hr Nights:
On call depending on acuity
Holiday Expectations: work one major holiday of Thanksgiving or Christmas to get the other off
Unit Specific Information
Patient Ratios: RN: 1:8 with a tech, LPN: 1:8 with a tech
Support on the Unit: Security, Panic alarms, Cameras, MD availability, BERT, Psych Techs, Charge nurse
Charting System/Equipment: EPIC, Med Dispensing: Omnicell
Floating: RN's/LPN's could float between the (3) floors at this off site Behavioral Health facility
Orientation: (2) 12hr shifts orienting to the facility, (1) shift of I-Learns, (2) shifts Departmental Orientation
