Job ResponsibilitiesTo provide a variety of tasks in the plumbing and carpentry trade to support the maintenance of facilities and equipment owned by Spartanburg Community College. Complete renovation and construction projects as assigned.

Completes carpentry related maintenance and repairs on buildings and furnishings to include wall framing and construction, ceiling and dry wall repairs, installation, maintenance and repair to doors, locks, closers and related hardware. Construct and install basic cabinetry, bookshelves, etc.

Completes general plumbing related repairs as typical with maintenance of restrooms, irrigation and other plumbing systems.

Maintains facilities roof systems. Inspect and make minor repairs to roofs and roof drains. Coordinate activity of roofing contractors making repairs.

Assists with other projects/renovations as instructed by supervisor such as coordinating paint contractors and ordering/storing paints, stains, etc.

Completes other tasks that may be requested by supervisor in other areas as needed.
Minimum and Additional Requirements

High school diploma and trade experience directly related to area of employment.
Preferred Qualifications

Associate degree and two years directly related work experience. Multi-skilled with a strong background in the carpentry and plumbing trade.
