Under the direct supervision of the Charge nurse and/or Registered nurse, performs the primary function of a licensed practical nurse in providing care to patients in need of wound care services.
The LPN is responsible for meeting standards of Wound Care practice set forth by regulatory agencies & nursing practice in the management of all assigned patients; assists medical staff with the implementation of wound treatment plans; essential in collaborating with other healthcare providers in the review of performance improvement activities and acts within the guidelines of federal & state laws, Joint Commission standards, and professional & ethical practice.

Additional

Education:

Graduate from an accredited vocational/technical LPN course required.
Completion of an accredited wound care course/training preferred.

Experience:

2 years medical surgical nursing or medical office experience required
Knowledge of wound related products & procedures required

Licensure/ Certification:

Active LPN license to work in South Carolina required
Current BLS required
Certification in Wound Care preferred
