Job Purpose: The Environmental Health Manager II serves as a Coastal Services Communications and Outreach Project Manager and is responsible for developing communication and outreach products for internal and external stakeholders.

Job Duties:

• Serve as the Communications and Outreach Project Manager within the Coastal Services Section, providing support for Coastal Program initiatives and strategies.
• Communicate regulatory, scientific, and technical information to diverse stakeholders, including, local, state, and federal entities, elected officials, property owners, NGOs, realtors, the private sector, academic institutions, and the general public through a variety of forums, including workgroups, trainings, presentations, conferences, roadshows, public hearings, and town halls.
• Develop digital and hard copy outreach and communication tools and products, including one pagers, reports, photos, videos, and social media and website content.
• Provide coordination and planning support for annual internal activities, including trainings, meetings, team building, and appreciation events.
• Represent the South Carolina Coastal Program internally and externally at working groups, conferences, panels, and committees.
• Participate in BCM's Emergency Operations Program, including assigned preparedness and recovery functions related to emergency events (e. g. , tropical storms).

• A bachelor's degree in the natural or physical sciences or a related scientific field
• OR an associate degree in the natural or physical sciences or related technical field and at least one (1) year of environmental health or related experience
• OR a high school diploma or GED and at least three (3) years of environmental health or related experience

• Proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both written and oral format.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and communication software programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Canva, and Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Must be proficient with social media platforms and be knowledgeable about social media trends and best practices.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with the team; Ability to develop positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• The ability to occasionally work outside of normal work schedule hours (e. g. evenings)
• Possess a valid driver's license and maintain a good driving record to operate personal and state-owned vehicle

• Master's degree in a natural, physical, or related scientific field OR a bachelor's degree in natural or physical sciences or a related scientific field plus one (1) year of relevant experience.
• Experience presenting to and meeting with individuals and various sized group of stakeholders about coastal topics.
• Experience developing outreach and/or training materials, including one-pagers, presentations, website content, and SOPs.
• Experience coordinating and hosting workshops, hearings, or trainings.
• Experience with cloud-based collaborative platforms, including Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
• Experience with photography, including the use of a DSLR camera.
• Knowledge of coastal management issues and awareness of South Carolina's Coastal Program policies.
