Pie is on a mission to defeat social isolation by making it easier for people to make new friends. We're building a platform that uses technology and some ~friendship science~ to make the experience of meeting new people as easy as calling an uber.

Through Pie, users can discover local events, meet like-minded people, and create real connections through shared experiences and recurring interactions. Whether it's attending a fun event, hosting a plan, or simply finding people who share your vibe, We make friendship as easy as Pie.

One of the things that sets Pie apart is our growing community of Pie Creators-IRL conveners who host plans and bring people together in unique and exciting ways. From hosting pickleball tournaments to organizing coffee and DJ mornings, Pie Creators make it easy for users to find plans that fit their interests and meet others who share their energy. By empowering creators with tools and resources, Pie helps build a dynamic and thriving community both online and offline.

Who We're Looking For

We're seeking a Market Manager to lead the charge in building our community of IRL creators in the San Francisco Bay Area. You'll play a key role in shaping how users discover, create, and connect through plans. Your work will directly impact how thousands of people make friends and find their place in community. You will be the lead in ensuring Pie continues to grow and thrive in the Bay Area.

What You'll Do:

• Recruit New IRL Creators:
  source, pitch, and onboard new IRL creators into the Pie Creator Fund from Bay Area communities.
• Support Existing IRL Creators:
  build a vibrant community of IRL Creators, host co-working days, lead training events, and identify resources that can effectively support our creators.
• Pie Feed Management:
  ensure the local Pie app event feed is filled with diverse and attractive events for our growing Bay Area user base.
• Pie Creator Fund Comms:
  be the point person to communicate with our Pie Creator Fund creators regarding support and new feature requests.
• Venue Relationships:
  create relationships with local venues that our IRL creators can utilize for their recurring events.
• Support Existing UGC Relationships:
  foster relationships with local social media creators who can attend our IRL creator events and build content to be utilized for Pie social accounts.
• Social Media / PR:
  support our in-house social media team through local activations and the generation of regular social media content.
• Pilot New Pie Initiatives:
  be the lead for new local Pie revenue streams such as small group matching and paid community memberships

What You Bring

• Demonstrated passion for Pie's mission to help people build friendships.
• Existing experience in IRL community building.
• Highly competent in working independently while managing several different work streams.
• Ability to hit the ground running with an existing network that can be utilized in the Bay Area.
• Capacity to communicate and collaborate effectively as a remote team member.
• Willingness to travel to Pie's HQ in Chicago (at least 1 week/month)
• Bonus:
  Experience with high-growth early stage startups, social platforms, or community-driven products.
