Media and Communications Lead - Phoenix School of Roseburg

Position Summary:
The Media and Communications Lead will be a dynamic and creative individual that will work to enhance our school's internal and external communication strategies. They will drive media and marketing channels to promote a positive image of Pheonix Charter School within the community. This role is vital in fostering relationships with students, parents, faculty, and the local community through effective messaging and engaging content.

Opening:
Part-time position. Annual contract July 1 through June 30.

Application Period:
Open until filled. Applications will be reviewed as they are received.

Assignment:
20 hours per week, scheduled between the hours of 7:
30am and 4:
30pm, Monday through Friday

Salary:
$18. 17 - $26. 73 per hour, depending upon experience.

Duties may include:

Content Creation:
Develop and produce engaging content for various platforms, including newsletters, social media, the school website, and press releases.

Social Media Management:
Manage and grow the school's social media presence, including creating posts, responding to inquiries, and monitoring engagement.

Public Relations:
Act as a liaison between the school and local media, coordinating press releases and media coverage for school events and achievements.

Event Promotion:
Collaborate with staff to promote school events, activities, and programs through effective marketing strategies.

Photography and Videography:
Capture and edit high-quality photos and videos of school events, ensuring they align with the school's branding and messaging.

Stakeholder Engagement:
Foster positive relationships with students, parents, faculty, and community members to promote school initiatives and achievements.

Data Analysis:
Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of communication strategies, providing reports and recommendations for improvement.

Position Requirements:

Must be a Phoenix School graduate.

Proven experience in media relations, content creation, or communications, preferably in an educational setting.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.

Proficiency in social media platforms, graphic design tools (e. g. , Canva, Adobe Creative Suite), and content management systems.

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders.

Passion for education and a commitment to fostering a positive school culture.

Regularly lift, move or carry up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift, move or carry up to 50 pounds.

Frequently required to stand or walk (occasionally on an uneven surface), reach with hands and arms, stoop and/or bend.

While performing the duties of the position, the employee works with standard office and/or instructional equipment with moving mechanical parts.
