The MDS Nurse performs under the direct supervision of the Director of Nurses and is delegated an assignment by the DON to achieve quality patient care.
The MDS Nurse shall implement the nursing process in an organized, systematic manner to include assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation as evidenced by documentation in Patient Care Record, completion of Minimum Data Sets and care plans in a timely and accurate manner.
MDS Nurse is accountable to the Director of Nurses for patient care, maintenance of schedules for completing the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) within allowed time limits in accordance with current Federal, State and Local regulations, and submission to payor sources within allotted timeframes.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served; also demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed.
Education/Skills:
Graduate of a recognized non-online RN program.
Work Experience:
One year medical/surgical nursing care preferred, but not required.
Certification/Licensure:
Must hold a current license to practice licensed professional nursing in the state of Mississippi.
