Certifications: BLS, ACLS
Must-Have: 1 year of dialysis experience, prefer both acute and chronic dialysis experience (inpatient and outpatient), ICU or PCU background is preferred.
• Administer dialysis in a 4-station Dialysis Suite and at patient bedsides in various units such as ER, ICU, and CCU.
• Manage a maximum of 3 patients per day, with each dialysis session lasting approximately 3 hours.
• Perform duties including cannulation and de-cannulation of fistulas and dialysis catheters, testing and maintaining machines, administering dialysis to acute and chronic patients, and disinfecting machines between patients.
• Use equipment including Fresenius AT 2000 and Portable WRH.
• Collaborate with an Assistant Nursing Care Coordinator available on each shift as a resource.
• Follow a flexible schedule to fill gaps in permanent staffing. Schedule is made a month in advance.
• Work every other Saturday, with no holiday or on-call requirements for travelers.
• Float throughout the hospital to administer inpatient dialysis if needed.
• Wear royal blue scrubs.
• Complete 2 days of classroom orientation and 1 day with a preceptor.
• Engage in a care setting defined as Post Acute with the use of the Allscripts charting system.
