Bookkeeper
Location: Woonsocket, RI
Shift: 1st Shift
Pay Rate: $25 - $28/hour
Summary:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. The Bookkeeper will play a crucial role in managing financial records, handling general ledger tasks, preparing journal entries, and assisting with month-end processes. If you have expertise in QuickBooks and a strong background in accounting, this is an excellent opportunity to bring your skills to a dynamic and supportive environment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Maintain and update the general ledger with accurate financial transactions.
Prepare and post journal entries to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
Oversee month-end closing processes, including reconciling accounts and generating reports.
Utilize QuickBooks to manage financial data and ensure proper recording of transactions.
Prepare financial statements and reports for management review.
Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes as needed.
Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
Conduct regular audits of financial records to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Support the preparation of tax documents and liaise with external auditors as required.
Maintain accurate records of invoices, receipts, and financial documents.
Collaborate with team members to improve financial processes and procedures.
Skills and Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree or higher in accounting or finance is preferred.
Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, with a minimum of 2 years in a similar role.
Expertise in QuickBooks is required.
Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, journal entries, and month-end processes.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in managing financial data.
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Good communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and external auditors.
Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance requirements.
Ability to work independently and handle confidential information responsibly.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
