Genesis10 is seeking a Technical Writer for our client in the Utilities Industry.
This is a Contract opportunity located in Downtown Dallas, TX 75201 The position is Hybrid with 3 days in the office and 2 remote.
W2 Status:
Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.
No 3rd Parties, No Sponsorship available for this position Summary This job position will primarily focus on creating and maintaining documentation, training, and communication materials, and providing oversight for content across various platforms throughout the organization.
These materials are critical to ensuring that employees are timely and accurately informed and/or trained on information critical to providing superior customer service and complying with market and regulatory requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze content in various platforms (knowledgebase, digital adoption platform, mobile apps) across the company to determine if material is relevant and accurate.
Collaborate with key stakeholders and team members to accurately document processes, procedures, and communications.
Produce quality documentation and software simulations that are appropriate for the intended audience.
Implement change management process for document updates.
Format documentation and training into standardized templates and adhere to style guide.
Proofread and edit for grammar, spelling, and correct style usage.
Provide support for the knowledgebase, digital adoption platform, and SharePoint site; generate and analyze reports as needed.
Comply with regulations, company policies, procedures, work rules, and management expectations.
Adhere to guidelines regarding sensitive customer information and proprietary company information.
Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements Required:
Preferred Bachelor Degree with 2 years of experience in technical writing, communications, or related field, or high school diploma with 5 years of experience in technical writing, communications, or related field.
Ability to follow directions and receive constructive feedback.
Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills.
Self-starter, detail-oriented, dependable, highly motivated with the ability to work independently or collaboratively.
Ability to shift priorities and adjust focus as needed.
Ability to manage multiple projects within strict deadlines.
Strong experience in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
Preferred:
Knowledgebase/content management experience.
Microsoft SharePoint experience.
Whatfix experience.
Experience in the electric utility industry.
Familiar with basics of instructional design.
